Outlook keeps downloading emails from yahoo mail.?

I've windows xp and use outlook 2003 to retrieve yahoo's pop3 mail. my outlook tells me i've configured it correctly to get my yahoo mail but each time send/receive is activated, it downlots all the emails on the server again as if it hasn't downloaded them before. this means it does not update my outlook email account but starts from scratch and downlots another copy. my inbox is very full!
Answer
In your outlook's settings somewhere, there is an option of leaving a copy of the messages on the server. make sure it isn't checked, or if it gives you an option of what to do with the messages, make sure it is set to delete the messages from the server. in outlook express, you'd click tools>accounts>properties> and then go to the advanced tab. the check box is at the bottom. i know outlook 2003 is set up differently, though, so you may have to do some hunting. just look for something that talks about messages on the server and choose not to leave them there. then they won't be downloaded every time you send/receive.
