Outlook character issue, please help??

This is an odd one. i have a pc jogging outlook 2003 connecting to a mail server (ms exchange). when i open up outlook and create a new message every thing is ok. if i open a new message, enter an address then type my keyboard goes screwy. @ becomes ", $ and £ move and € disapeares compleately. any messages i try to send from then on have this problem. however, if i close outlook and re-open it i is ok again. can someone help?
Answer
I suspect that you have a fastkey option to switch between regional settings in windows, and that you are triggering the switch when entering the address in outlook - the @ key is implicated here.. if you have no need of a us keyboard layout (this is what it sounds like), then it would be best to disable it. control panel - regional & language options - languages - details.. remove any you don't want, or change the hotkey to switch between them. nice luck!
