I cannot access iis pages in the intranet?
I have recently set up an iis page which i can access without problems from my local computer. accessing it from other computers connected to the server is however not possible, and the "page can't be found" site comes up. do i access the iis pages the same way as from my local computer? or is the name in the browser different? could there also be a problem with the site being ulocated on a networked computer than the server itself?
Answer
Step 1) on the computer with iss running, goto the comman
d prompt (cmd from the run option on the start bar).
step 2) type ipconfig /all and find your network adaptors ip address.
step 3) open the comman
d window (see step 1) on the attached computer.
step 4) type: ping
step 5) if it returns results then the computers are talking to each other, goto step 6. if not then you have a communication issue between the computers (you will need to analyse your network/firewall settings).
step 6) in your web browser, type this address: http:///
this should display the default page set up on the webserver.
