Access courses?
I have just done access to nursing but i really want to do teaching now. can i apply to uni with this certificate or would i have to take more modules at college related to teaching? the access to nursing consisted of health studies, human biology and english at level 3 (a level) and maths at level 2 (gcse grade c)
thanks
Answer
You need to do a degree first and then the pgce. i went to university via the access work and i finished my degree in may, its a long process but it's worth it in the end. i begin a pgce in september. if and when you go to uni seek out the student associates scheme, it's a 15 day programme where you go into a school and you start by watching a teacher work and your involvement increases day by day until you take a class by yourself under the supervision of a mentor teacher, and you get paid £600 tax free for the experience and its recognised and participation is encouraged by the tda and teacher training institutions such as edge hill and st. martins.
nice
luck!
