Xp home edition and xp professional?
I saw this computer on special offer and it features xp professional as my old pc had xp home edition. i was wondering if my software such as mp3 player etc will work correctly with professional.
i would like to know if professional will be suitable?
also what differences are they?

Whatever program that runs in home edition will surely run in professional edition. the basic difference between the two is that the former is designed for personal use only while the latter is designed for company use in terms of its configurability, security, connectivity and the like. these are few of the many reasons why it is better to have the professional edition even for personal use.
