Installing xp on laptop?

I've a laptop with windows vista home edition basic installed but what i wanna do is install xp instead as i think that was the best os made. vista is a bit rubbish to be honest with you. now i've a desktop pc at home with xp installed but i cannot find the xp discs. is there anyway i can use the information and files on my pc to get xp installed on my laptop. or even better if anyone knew a better option for my situation. thanks.
Answer
No, when installing windows, the installation process creates a unique installation for the hardware present in the computer at the time and makes it impossible to transfer to another computer unless the hardware is identical not to mention licensing issues.
