Mobile excel date formatting wrong?

For some reason pocket excel on my hp ipaq rx3950 (walking wm5) has started thinking it is on the us and is formatting the date in the mm/dd/yy format. my regional setting are set to uk (date is dd/mm/yy) cell format is also dd/mm/yy what used to happen was that i would enter a date, eg 2/4 and this was correctly interpreted at 2-apr-07 now, my ppc interprets the date as 4-feb-07 (ie us date format) how do i get pocket excel to go back to thinking european and not us? i also checked the registy and [hkey_local_machine\nls\overrides] "ssdte" is set to 'dd mmm yy'
