Windows vista and printers?????

Hi. i need help. i currently have windows xp and i would like to upgrade to vista. i know there's lots of packages. i want the packages where everything looks nicer and beta. would the home basic edition suit? also i installed windows vista upgrade advisor. i have a lexmark (printer and scanner - all in one). the advisor said it's not compatible with vista. does this mean i can't print things out? if so, how can i solve it? after i have installed vista, will it be possible to go back to xp? also is thier i free version i can try out first? thanks everyone
Answer
Probably the next package up would be better.the printer should work ok because it is programmed into your computer, not xp. as long as you've a master disc for your computer you should be able to re-install xp
